Say "High" to the Woman Behind the Blog
Hello and welcome to the Cannabis Revolution Blog! My name is Priscilla and I am the creator and owner of this blog. I started this blog with the intention of raising awareness regarding the uses and benefits of cannabis to demonstrate the need for both its legalization and decriminalization. On this blog, you can expect to find posts such as The History of Marijuana, Medical Uses and Benefits of Marijuana, Differences Between Cannabis Sativa and Indica, History of Hemp, Industrial and Agricultural Uses of Hemp, and so much more! I hope you take the time to read through my posts and become enlightened about this magical plant!
I have not always been an advocate for cannabis. Growing up, I was influenced by media, school, and my peers to believe that cannabis was to be negatively viewed in the same regard as Class A drugs, that is, cocaine, heroin, and LSD. I was so influenced by these pressures that I looked down upon people who smoked marijuana. Remembering the importance of free thought and curiosity, I began to research about cannabis by watching videos and reading articles. I soon learned the cannabis is a plant that provides countless uses and benefits and has been used by various cultures for centuries, but has been overshadowed as a result of government regulation, propaganda, and misinformation. Although there have been great strides in state legalization and public support of cannabis, cannabis remains federally illegal and classified as a Class B drug. In addition, the illegal status of cannabis has resulted in social injustices. According to the ACLU, African Americans are 3.73% more likely to be arrested than whites for marijuana offenses. The fight for the federal legalization and decriminalization of cannabis is ongoing, so I sincerely hope that my simple blog can make a small contribution to raise awareness and public support for cannabis.
When I am not advocating for cannabis, I am a college student studying Environmental Policy and a passion activist advocating for environmental protection and sustainability. (Check out my environmental blog: Help Heal Our Earth).
